Light, Fresh & Sappy
Bred from Challenger and Northdown at Wye College and released in 1998. Not as harsh as Target, but very mild aromatics so use in combination with other varieties for late-hopping and dry hopping.
Compact cones with high Alpha levels and a subtle but pleasant fresh hoppy aroma.
Provides good background bitterness for beers where large quantities of very low alpha aroma hops such as Fuggles/ Goldings are typically used, e.g. English Bitters, Pale Ales and IPA’s, or with Aramis/ Saaz in Continental or Czech Pilsners.
With low aroma, also suits Witte & Weisse styles.
